Imagens de satélite revelam o degelo nos montes Everest e Kilimanjaro e mostram as consequências para a cidade de Veneza, na Itália.

A exposição Patrimônio Cultural e Mudanças Climáticas Vistos do Céu traz fotos mostrando os efeitos do aquecimento global sobre patrimônios históricos.

Durante dez anos a Unesco trabalhou em parceria com agências espaciais, instituições de pesquisa do mundo todo e iniciativa privada para dar apoio a países em desenvolvimento em relação ao monitoramento e avaliação de patrimônios da humanidade.

Os painéis expõem exemplos de áreas locais, regionais e globais. Além da exposição, que acontece nas ruas de Cancún para marcar a Cúpula Climática, serão ministradas sessões de formação para professores e material didático será distribuído durante as visitas escolares.

The exhibition Cultural Heritage and Climate Change Observed From Space show photos of World Heritage sites suffering with the effects of greenhouse emissions.

Over ten years Unesco has been establishing cooperation partnerships with space agencies, research institutions and the private sector in order to assist developing countries in monitoring and assessing World Heritage sites.

The panels use examples on the local, regional and global scale.

Apart from the display, which can be seen on the street of Cancun, where the Climate Summit is taking place, training will be given for teachers and educational resources will be distributed during school visits.
